A Note from Instaclustr’s Canberra Office Amid the Devastating Australian Bushfires

Popular

The destructive and frightening bushfires in South Eastern Australia have to date burned more than 15 million acres, taken the lives of civilians and first responders, and represent a huge loss for the entire country.

In Canberra, where Instaclustr’s Australian office is located, the fires have—thankfully—not directly impacted the city, and forecasts remain positive. However, since before Christmas, the bushfires across the surrounding region have at times filled the Canberra area with dangerous smoke.  The air quality worsened on New Year’s Day, and we had to close our doors briefly to protect the health of our employees. However, there has been some relief over the last 24 hours, and we are now back in the office and functioning normally.  Instaclustr is a global company, and while our Canberra office has been impacted with the smoke and haze, our other offices remain fully functional and open.

While the impact of the bushfires in Australia will last for years to come, we—like all our fellow Australians—are thankful to all of the professional and volunteer emergency services personnel on the front lines.  Our thoughts are with those families and communities that have been impacted across Australia and in our region.  Here at Instaclustr we will be doing our part over the coming weeks, months, and years to help in the recovery and rebuilding process.
