**NetApp is pleased to announce the immediate general availability of Instaclustr for Apache ZooKeeper™ 3.7.2 and 3.8.4 on the Instaclustr Managed Platform. This update is part of our ongoing commitment to provide our users with the latest and most efficient tools for managing their distributed systems, with both releases containing important security fixes.**

In the coming weeks we will be transitioning the lifecycle states of the older versions to more restrictive states. Released on March 5th, 2024, ZooKeeper 3.8.4 is the latest bugfix release of the ZooKeeper 3.8 branch. Compared to [ZooKeeper 3.8.2](https://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.8.2/releasenotes.html) it includes some improvements, bugfixes and several CVE fixes impacting libraries and components, including:

- netty ([ZOOKEEPER-4755](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-4755) and [ZOOKEEPER-4762](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-4762)),
- jetty ([ZOOKEEPER-4754](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-4754)),
- snappy-java ([ZOOKEEPER-4751](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-4751) and [ZOOKEEPER-4758](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-4758))

[ZooKeeper 3.7.2](https://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.7.2/releasenotes.html) is the current ZooKeeper release for the 3.7 branch, and successor to [ZooKeeper 3.7.1](https://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.7.1/releasenotes.html) on our managed platform. Like ZooKeeper 3.8.4, it contains some improvements and bugfixes with a host of security fixes from upgrades to libraries and components that it utilizes:

- jackson-databind ([ZOOKEEPER-4661](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-4661)),
- reload4j ([ZOOKEEPER-4602](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZOOKEEPER-4602)).

To start using ZooKeeper 3.8.4 or 3.7.2 on the Instaclustr managed platform, simply select the desired version when creating a new cluster. If you’re already using ZooKeeper on our platform and wish to upgrade, please refer to our documentation or reach out to our [support team for assistance](https://support.instaclustr.com/hc/en-us/requests/new).

Before using either version in production environments, we encourage you to try the new ZooKeeper version in your non-production environments to confirm compatibility with your clients.
