Instaclustr for Apache Kafka® and Apache Kafka® Connect 3.6.2 Are Now Generally Available

NetApp is excited to announce the general availability of Instaclustr for Apache Kafka® and Apache Kafka® Connect 3.6.2 on the Instaclustr Managed Platform.

Kafka 3.6.2 is the latest patch release for Kafka 3.6. Compared to Kafka 3.6.1 it contains significant bug fixes and improvements related to migrating from Apache ZooKeeperto KRaft: 

  • KAFKA-16007Speed up migrations for large clusters 
  • KAFKA-16120Fix partition reassignment during ZooKeeper migration
  • KAFKA-16171Controller failover during ZooKeeper migration can prevent metadata updates to ZooKeeper brokers 
  • KAFKA-16180Full metadata request sometimes fails during ZooKeeper migration 
  • KAFKA-16216Reduce batch size for initial metadata load during ZooKeeper migration 
  • KAFKA-16222Fixes a bug which sometimes caused entity names for client quotas to get malformed during migration.

In addition to the above, it also updates some packages and components to fix CVEs: 

With this new release, we will be reviewing and updating the lifecycle states for our older supported Kafka versions (as per our lifecycle policy). To ensure you get the full benefit of our support and SLAs, please reach out to us and upgrade to a GA version.
