Cadence Synthetic Workflows

Synthetic Workflow Metrics are used by Instaclustr to provide a direct measure of the correct functioning of the system. These metrics are generated by Instaclustr’s monitoring agent regularly executing simple test workflows to check that Cadence is able to execute workflows correctly. Additionally, recording the workflow end-to-end latency will determine the quality-of-service of a Cadence Cluster.

  • Synthetic Workflow Latency: This metric displays the average time taken in milliseconds by a workflow to complete in periodical test.Increasing latency may indicate that the Cadence cluster is reaching processing capacity.
  • Synthetic Workflow Success/sec: This metric displays the average workflow success count per second over 20 seconds in the periodical test.
  • Synthetic Workflow Cancel/sec: This metric displays the average workflow cancel count per second over 20 seconds in the periodical test. Expected value: 0
  • Synthetic Workflow Fail / sec: This metric displays the average workflow failed count per second over 20 seconds in the periodical test. Expected value: 0
  • Synthetic Workflow Timeout/sec: This metric displays the average workflow timeout count per second over 20 seconds in the periodical test. Expected value: 0
  • Synthetic Workflow Terminate/sec: This metric displays the average workflow termination count per second over 20 seconds in the periodical test. Expected value: 0
